Heat Transfers

Posted by

Heat Transfers are a great way to put printed graphics onto garments .

The most common shirt being a blend of polyester and cotton . The use of direct to garment printing is not yet fully successful and therefore Heat Transfers offer a way to have lasting graphics

The use of screen printing and direct to garment printing will be covered in another blog.

The down side to this is how the shirts are made. Most die sublimated shirts when heated can release some pigment and this can leave a discoloration in the heated area. Does not happen all the time but it is possible.

Heating other shirts can have the risk of heated discoloration but again does not happen often. We have no control which shirts will be effected and once the process is started it cannot be seen until the transfer is on and the garment cools down and reabsorbs the humidity as the heating process will dry out the garment  making a noticeable colour  change for a short time.

Our suppliers do not accept any responsibility nor can we other than warn our clients this can happen.

So if you are having Heat Transfers done we will take care to apply correctly and only use well known branded materials as well we have the latest Heat Press which is needed for good quality control over the whole process.

This is our blog topic today and is needed if not to just make our clients aware what can happen. In the past 5 years we have only seen this happen less than 5 times and it was not a bad difference.

Be sure to ask about this more if you intend to use Heat Transfers.
